Layer 3 Virtual Private Network, L3 VPN (Layer 3 Virtual Private Network, IP VPN), offers a modern solution allowing integration of many geographically remote offices in the simplest and most cost-effective way. Layer 3 VPN (VPN/L3) is easier to implement, and it inter-works at IP subnets level. However, when moving offices, a new subnet needs to be established.
The VPN’s, implemented on the base of the NGN Comstar, can be integrated with Comstar United Telesystems’ other services, such as high-speed access to the Internet at up to 1 Gbps, high-quality new-generation packet switched telephony (Voice-over-IP), etc. They not only allow interconnecting the parent office with the affiliates, but also establishing, for example, communication of the POS-terminals or ATM’s to the host computer.
